When I got married my husband and I became one. So when someone trashes my husband they are trashing me too! Today this man, to my husband's face, was talking down to him and belittling him. As my husband just stood there, smiled, and just said "well if that's how you feel", MY blood started to boil. It took every ounce of my strength to not tell the guy off and punch him in the face! I was so proud of the way my husband handled it, but boy would it have made me feel good to put that guy in his place. I don't put up with people belittling my family or showing disrespect. The thing is the guy kept saying "don't take it personally" What is that all about???? The guy was telling my husband that his kids are above him and don't need to be in his Sunday school class anymore because it's too childish and he tells him NOT TO TAKE IT PERSONALLY??? My husband is a great preacher and teacher and does great with the youth group and RU ministry, if he wasn't, the pastor of the church wouldn't have put him in that kind of leadership!!
Just had to vent a little lol I figured it was better than punching a fool.

makes your hair stand
Sunday afternoon the girls and I made a "house" in the livingroom. To most boys this would be called a fort but to Sophia it was her house. Olivia had so much fun going in and out of our house, she was also the only one short enough to stand in it lol. What joyous fun you can have with a couple tv trays some blankets and pillows. We each had our own room in the house and a light from the ceiling! Our Olivia monster kept us all laughing by lifting one of the walls and screaming at us. And my oh my all the static that was making our hair messy from rubbing on the blankets hahaha!!
We spent most of the afternoon playing in our beautiful house and making great memories. Daddy joined in too! I forgot to take pictures because I was busy having fun. We kept the house up and after church that night Sophia tried sitting on the roof and knocked it all over.....oh the laughs we had :)
I have made it my new years resolution to have less tv time and more play time with my children....and who says I have to wait until the new year to start!? We have been having so much fun playing with our girls this past two weeks and it has made our home just that much better.

Welcome to Mount-WASH-more
Every morning I am faced with piles and piles of laundry, that never seem to get smaller. I feel so over whelmed buy mountains of dirty clothes, it feels as if I'm getting suffocated by it. I often ask myself, "why can't I keep up with the laundry?" , "why can't I keep these piles of clothes off the floor?", or "Am I the only one with this problem?". I do have to say some of the reason we have this problem is the lack of space to put our clothes. It's not that we have too much clothes (we just took tons to goodwill) it is the fact that we have one very small closet and two dressers that each have a broken drawer. We are looking to get some nice dressers soon. But back to my problem.....mount-wash-more!!! My washer and dryer are in the basement and I HATE our basement!! It grosses me out down there and I don't like going in it. one of the pipes on the washer backs up easily and so water gets all over everything, which is another reason I don't like doing my laundry. I really should be thankful though because I could be walking to the river and washing by hand, or heading to the laundry mat every week.
Now folding laundry doesn't bother me. But I never seem to get around to doing it. I fold my laundry right in my room and then put it away, the problem with this is the girls are usually in the living room playing and something always happens if I'm not down there. I have tried folding my laundry in the living room but it seems to never work out. 1st, it really just adds one more step to my laundry doings, because then I have to walk up and down the stairs a couple times to put it away. 2nd, my girls like to "help" mommy fold, which usually doesn't quite work out haha.
So how do I go about getting all this laundry done?? Maybe I could hire a fairy to wave her magic wand and BAMMMM it is all done!! Or maybe I'll just take it one day at a time, load by load, keep my chin up and won't let the piles get the best of me :)

Life...it's but a vapor
I had the chance to go to my cousin's place for a week to help out with her daughter and around her house. My cousin Melanie has a rare form of breast cancer and has been through so much. Her cancer is back and she has started treatment again, they say it won't cure her but they are hoping it will just give her a little more time. A day doesn't go by that I don't think about her and her family or cry and pray for her,it grieves my heart and I pray daily for her to have a long life raising her daughter who is now two years old.
Watching my cousin go through this has really made me look at my life. We don't know how long each of us have. How stupid and small some of our "problems" seam when we really think about it.
How can I even be so selfish to complain when my life is so wonderful? How dare I be upset about the house being a mess, when I should be thankful I have a house? How dare I get frustrated with my children for "being children" when I should be kissing and hugging them and thankful they are healthy? Or being upset that my husband is so tired all the time, when I should be thankful he works so incredibly hard to provide for us?
I have started taking time each day to thank the Lord for,
Life
health
my husband
my children
and so much more...
I have become:
a more thankful woman...
a more loving wife...
a more gentle mother...
a more understanding person all around...
I have such a blessed life and I need not to forget it. I'm not going to look at what I don't have but be thankful for the many, many things I have in my life that are worth so much more. Cherish each day you have to serve Christ and love your family, give God all the glory.
